Secondary Shaft Assembly — 1984-89 Accord, 1984-87 Prelude (Honda Accord 3)

Clean all parts thoroughly with detergent and dry with compressed air. Lubricate all parts with oil before assembly.

NOTE: Each synchronizer sleeve has 3 sets of extended teeth spaced at 120°. During assembly, these must be aligned with the corresponding 3 sets of recessed slots on the hub.

1. Install the thrust washer and needle bearing.

2. Install the 1st gear.

3. Install the synchronizer parts: ring, spring, sleeve, hub, spring and ring.

4. Install the 2nd gear.

5. Install the spacer bushing, needle bearing and 3rd gear.

6. Install the spacer bushing and 4th gear.

7. Install the 5th gear.
