Starter — removal and installation (Honda Accord 3)

1. Disconnect the wires from both battery terminals, starting with the negative one.

2. Disconnect the cable from the starter motor, tag and disconnect the wires from the starter solenoid. Certain engine/transmission combinations may have a motor harness that is clamped to the starter. Remove the harness from the clamp and set it aside.

3. Remove the starter motor by loosening the mounting bolts.

4. To install the starter, perform the steps in reverse order. Tighten the mounting bolts to 45 Nm, securing the starter to the engine.

5. Securely connect the wiring to the starter. Connect the battery cables starting with the positive one.
