The stabilizer controls the voltage at the generator output. Without such control, a large current from the generator or battery will damage the car's electrical equipment.

Removal and installation



All Accord and Prelude models 1988-91



1. Dismantle the generator.

2. Remove the brush holder (see previous section).

3. Remove the stabilizer mounting bolts and remove the stabilizer.

4. To install the stabilizer, place it in place and secure it with the mounting bolts.

5. Install the brush holder.

6. Assemble and install the generator.

1. The stabilizer is located on the right front part of the frame mount.

2. Turn off the ignition, disconnect the wire harness and ground connection bolt.

3. Remove the stabilizer mounting bolts and the stabilizer itself.

4. Assembly is carried out in reverse order.
