Examination
1. Check the automatic transmission oil level.
2. 2WD Models: Apply parking brake, chock rear wheels. Jack up the front wheels and place the car on stands. Do this so that the front wheels can be turned.
4WD Models: Jack up all 4 wheels and place the vehicle on jack stands. Make it so that you can turn all the wheels.
3. Start the engine and warm it up until the 2nd turn on of the radiator fan.
4. Stop the engine and connect the speed sensor (tachometer).
5. Install a set of pressure gauges in each inspection port.
Keep out foreign particles.
6. Start the engine, set the selector lever to position N or P, bring the engine speed to 2000 / min and measure the pressure in the line.
If during the measurement the selector lever is in a position other than N or P, the test result will not be reliable.
7. Check the pressure in the couplings, see table.
1st clutch pressure
Set the selector lever to range 2, press the Low Hold switch and select range L. While holding the engine speed at 2000 rpm, measure the pressure in the 1st clutch.
2nd clutch pressure
Press the Low Hold switch and turn off the L range. Set the selector lever to range 2. While holding the engine speed at 2000 rpm, measure the 2nd clutch pressure.
3rd and 4th clutch pressure
- (1) Set the selector lever to position P, press the brake pedal and move the lever to position D.
- (2) Release the brake pedal (1st gear).
- (3) Press the accelerator pedal, bring the engine speed to 2500 / min. (shifting from 1st to 2nd gear).
- (4) Check that the switchover has taken place and after 5 seconds release the accelerator pedal (engine speed in 2nd gear drops to 1000 / min.).
- (5) Slowly depressing the accelerator pedal for 5 seconds, bring the engine speed to 2000 rpm. (shifting from 2nd to 3rd and from 3rd to 4th gear).
- (6) Measure the pressure in the 3rd and 4th gear clutches.
8. After completing the check, install new sealing washers and tighten the bolts with a torque of 18 N·m (1.8 kg m).
