1. Press out the outer race of the tapered roller bearing from the transfer case cover A by heating the cover to almost 100°C using a fan heater. Do not heat the cover to a temperature higher than 100°C.

2. Install the 68mm thrust shim into transfer case cover A.
3. Using a special tool, press in the outer ring of the tapered roller bearing.
