2. Remove the cap from the radiator.
3. Loosen the drain plug and drain the coolant.
4. Remove the drain bolt from the rear of the cylinder block.
5. Apply sealant to the drain bolt threads, then install the bolt with a new washer and tighten securely.
6. Tighten the radiator drain plug securely.
7. Remove the tank, empty it and reinstall it. Fill the tank halfway to the MAX mark with water, then to the MAX mark with antifreeze.
8. Mix recommended antifreeze with an equal amount of water in a clean container.
Note:
- Use only genuine Honda antifreeze/coolant.
- For maximum corrosion protection, the coolant concentration must be maintained at a minimum of 50% all year round. Concentrations below 50% may not provide sufficient protection against corrosion or freezing.
- At a concentration of coolant above 60%, the cooling ability of the mixture deteriorates, so it is not recommended for use.
- Do not use additional corrosion inhibitors or anti-corrosion agents; they may not be compatible with the coolant.
Engine cooling capacity (including tank): 0.4 l
- MCP: 2.8 l
- CVT: 3.0L
9. Pour coolant into the radiator up to the base of the filler neck.
10. Start the engine and let it warm up to normal operating temperature (the radiator fan should turn on at least two times).
11. Stop the engine. Check the level in the radiator, add coolant if necessary.
12. Replace the radiator cap tightly, then restart the engine and check for leaks.
Cover test
1. Remove the cap from the radiator, moisten its seal with engine coolant, then install it on the hand pump.
2. Pressurize 93-123 kPa (0.95-1.25 kgf/cm2).
3. Check if the pressure drops.
4. If pressure drops, replace cap.
Leak test
1. Wait for the engine to cool, then carefully remove the cap from the radiator and fill the radiator with engine coolant up to the top of the filler neck.
2. Attach a hand pump to the radiator and pressurize 93-123 kPa (0.95-1.25 kgf/cm2).
3. Check for engine coolant leakage and pressure drop.
4. Disconnect the hand pump and replace the radiator cap.
Note: Check for engine oil in the coolant and/or coolant in the engine oil.
