Checking the pump pressure (Honda HR-V 1)

To find a fault in the pump or steering gear, check the fluid pressure as follows:

1. Check the power steering fluid level (see above) and tension of the pump drive belt (see above).

2. Carefully disconnect the feed pipe from the pump pipe so as not to spill power steering fluid on the frame or other parts, then connect the power steering (pump) connector adapter to the pump pipe.

2. FEED PIPE NECK
3. 6x1.0 mm BOLT (special tool component)
4. 6 mm NUT (special tool component), 11 Nm (1.1 kgf/m)
5. SHUT-OFF VALVE
6. 6x1.0 mm BOLT (special tool component), 11 Nm (1.1 kgf/m)
7. POWER STEERING CONNECTOR (PUMP), 07RAK-S040110
8. PRESSURE GAUGE FOR HYDRAULIC POWER BOOST, 07406-0010200
9. PRESSURE REGULATING VALVE


3. Connect the power steering coupling adapter (hose) to the power steering pressure gauge, then connect the feed pipe to the power steering coupling adapter (hose).

4. Connect the power steering pressure gauge to the power steering connection adapter (pump).

5. Open the shut-off valve fully.

6. Open the pressure regulating valve fully.

7. Start the engine and let it run at idle speed.
