1. Set the front wheels to a straight-ahead position, then remove the driver airbag assembly from the steering wheel.
2. Disconnect the horn connector and mode switch connector, if equipped.
3. Loosen the steering wheel bolt, then install the steering wheel puller and remove it.
Remove the steering wheel with the following in mind:
- Do not knock on the steering wheel or steering shaft.
- If the puller bolts are screwed into the steering wheel hub more than five thread pitches, the bolts will hit the coiled wire and damage it. To prevent this from happening, screw a pair of locknuts onto the puller bolts at the level of the fifth thread pitch.
