Removal
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
Warning! If the car stereo system is equipped with a security code, make sure you have the correct combination to activate the audio system before disconnecting the battery!

2. Jack up the front of the car and place it on supports. Disconnect the exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold. If the pipe fasteners are difficult to remove, first moisten them with a penetrating compound.

3. Remove the heat shield from the exhaust manifold. It is also advisable to pre-soak the fasteners with a penetrating compound.

4. Loosen the mounting nuts and separate the exhaust manifold from the cylinder head.
Note: Don't forget to remove the lower mounting bracket bolts located near the manifold mounting flange.
Installation
1. Discard the old gasket, then scrape off any fragments from the mating surfaces of the exhaust manifold and cylinder head. Wipe the surfaces with a rag soaked in acetone.
2. After replacing the gasket, install the manifold in its regular place and secure it with nuts. Moving in the direction from the center outward, tighten the fasteners diagonally with the required force (see Specifications).
3. Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of dismantling.
4. Start the engine and check it for signs of exhaust gas leaks through the joints of the exhaust manifold with the cylinder head and the exhaust downpipe.
