Warning! If the car stereo system is equipped with a security code, make sure you have the correct combination to activate the audio system before disconnecting the battery!
2. Remove the battery and its mounting tray from the engine compartment (see Section Checking the battery status and replacing it).
3. Disconnect the lower radiator hose and wiring harness from the starter mounting bracket. On V6 engines, there are ATF cooling lines near the starter mounting location - make sure they are moved to the side.
4. Carefully mark and disconnect the wiring from the starter solenoid terminals. Release the intermediate wiring fasteners.
5. Loosen the mounting bolts and remove the starter.
6. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
