2. Measure the clearance between both axle gears and the pinions. If the clearance is greater than the specified range, replace the differential cup.
- Standard (new): 0.05-0.15 mm

3. Remove the tapered roller bearing using a bearing puller and separator as shown in the figure.

4. Loosen the bolts crosswise in several passes, remove the final drive driven gear and the transfer case driven gear from the differential cup.

Note: The final drive pinion bolts have left-hand threads.
5. Install the final drive driven gear and the transfer case driven gear into the differential cup, tighten the bolts crosswise in several passes.
6. Install new tapered roller bearings using the special tool as shown in the figure.

Note: Press the tapered roller bearings until they touch the bottom of the differential cup.
