Examination
1. Check all synchronizer hubs and races for gear teeth with rounded corners, which indicates wear.
2. Insert the hubs into the corresponding synchronizer housings and check if they rotate freely.
Note: The synchronizer sleeve and hub must be replaced together.
Installation
When assembling the synchronizer sleeve and hub, insert the three pairs of longer teeth (120 degrees offset) on the synchronizer sleeve into the three deeper grooves on the synchronizer hub.
Caution! Do not insert the synchronizer sleeve with the long teeth into the recesses of the 1st/2nd gear synchronizer hub, otherwise you will damage the spring ring.
