Note: Make sure the valves move freely in the guide.
2. Install the spring seats into the cylinder head.
3. Install the valve seals using a special tool (figure in the right column above).
Note: Exhaust and intake valve seals are not interchangeable.
4. Install the valve spring and valve retainer, then install the valve spring compressor. Compress the spring and install the cotters.

Note: Install the spring with the end with the narrow pitch of the coils towards the cylinder head.
5. To seat the valve and crackers, lightly tap the tip of each valve stem two or three times with a plastic hammer.
Note: Only strike the valve stems perpendicular to the axis so as not to bend the stems.
