2. Check brake pads for cracks, oil, wear or contamination.
3. Measure the thickness of the friction linings of the brake pads.
The thickness of the friction linings of the brake pads:
- Standard: 4.0mm
- Limit: 2.0mm
Note: The measurement does not include the thickness of the brake pad.
4. If the thickness of the friction linings of the brake pads is less than the limit value, replace the lining assemblies.
5. Check that the bearings in the hub assembly rotate smoothly.
6. Measure the inside diameter of the brake drum with a vernier caliper.
Drum inner diameter:
- Standard: 199.9-200.0mm
- Limit: 201.0mm
7. If the inner diameter of the brake drum exceeds the limit, replace the brake drum.
8. Check up a brake drum on existence of scratches, dredging and cracks.
