Attention! See the warnings at the beginning of the Section Depressurizing the supply system.
Removing the fuel line from a 4-cylinder engine can be done without first dismantling the pressure chamber of the air path. On V6 engines, the pressure chamber must be removed in order to provide access to the lines of the left and right rows of cylinders, while both lines can be removed as a single assembly along with the injectors fixed to them.
Withdrawal
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
Attention! If the stereo system installed in the car is equipped with a security code, before disconnecting the battery, make sure that you have the correct combination to put the equipment into operation!
2. Relieve pressure in the supply system (see Section Depressurizing the supply system).
3. On V6 models, remove the access covers from the top of the power package (see chapter Engine).
4. On V6 models, remove the air path pressure chamber (see chapter Engine).
5. Disconnect the electrical wiring from the injection injectors.
6. Disconnect the fuel return hose from the pressure regulator.
Note. The fuel return line is thinner and is attached to the regulator fitting with a small spring-type clamp, then the fuel supply hose (pressure line) bolted to the highway.
7. Disconnect the ground bus from the fuel line.
8. Disconnect the fuel supply line from the fuel line.
9. Give fixing nuts/bolts and remove a fuel highway of the engine.
Note. On V6 models, the lines of both rows of cylinders must rise at the same time.
10. Remove the injector (s) from its fuel line seat.
11. Remove and discard old o-rings and damper rings/washers.
Note. It makes sense to replace all rings / washers used in injectors, regardless of their condition.
Installation
1. Lubricate the new damper washers with clean engine oil and put them on the injection injectors.
2. Install new O-rings (also lubricated with motor oil), then fill the injectors into their seats in the fuel line.
3. Lubricate with impellent oil new landing sealing rings and fill them in nests under installation of injectors in the inlet pipeline.
4. Establish assembly of a fuel highway with injectors on the inlet pipeline. Tighten the fixing nuts (4-cylinder models) with the required effort. On V6 models, securely tighten the mounting bolts.
5. Further installation is carried out in the reverse order to the dismantling of the components.
6. Having finished the installation, without starting the engine, turn on the ignition in order to activate the fuel pump for a couple of seconds and raise the pressure in the power system. Repeat this activation two or three times, then check the fuel lines, lines and injectors for signs of leaks.
