Removal and installation the fuel pressure regulator (Honda Accord 6)

1. Release the pressure in the fuel system (see Section Relieving pressure in the fuel system).

2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

Warning! If the car stereo system is equipped with a security code, make sure you have the correct combination to activate the system before disconnecting the battery!


3. On V6 models, remove the access covers from the top of the powertrain (see Chapter Engine).

4. Disconnect the vacuum and fuel hoses from the pressure regulator.

5. Remove the pressure regulator from the fuel rail assembly:
  • a) On 4-cylinder engines, the regulator is attached to the line with mounting bolts;

a) On 4-cylinder engines, the regulator is…

  • b) On V6 engines, an open-end wrench will be required to remove the governor.

6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Do not forget to replace the sealing ring, which should be lightly lubricated with clean engine oil before installation. Tighten the fasteners/regulator assembly with the required force.

7. Check the engine for signs of fuel leaks.
