Attention! See the warnings at the beginning of the Section Depressurizing the supply system.
1. Relieve the pressure in the supply system (see Section Depressurizing the supply system).
2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
Attention! If the stereo system installed in the car is equipped with a security code, before disconnecting the battery, make sure that you have the correct combination to put the equipment into operation!
3. On V6 models, remove the access covers from the top of the power package (see chapter Engine).
4. Disconnect the vacuum and fuel hoses from the pressure regulator.
5. Remove the pressure regulator from the fuel line assembly:
- a) On 4-cylinder engines, the regulator is attached to the line with mounting bolts;
- b) On V6 engines, an open end wrench will be required to remove the regulator.
6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Do not forget to replace the sealing ring, which should be lightly lubricated with clean engine oil before installation. Tighten fasteners/assembly of the regulator with the required force.
7. Check the engine for signs of fuel leaks.
