The alarm is activated automatically fifteen seconds after all doors, trunk lid and car hood are closed. To activate the alarm system, you must lock the door locks from outside the vehicle: using the key, the lock button, the single lock switch or the remote control. The process of activating the security alarm is accompanied by a flashing of the control lamp of the system, mounted in the assembly of the fuel gauge/coolant temperature meter of the instrument cluster engine. After the activation is completed and the anti-theft alarm system is put into standby mode, opening any car door (without using a key or remote control), trunk lid or hood triggers an alarm. The sound alarm also turns on when you try to remove the car radio from its landing socket in the control panel or when cutting the electrical wiring.
When the alarm is on standby, it is possible to open the luggage compartment lid without triggering the alarm - to do this, use the main ignition key or remote control. The alarm will only work if the trunk lock is broken or opened using the button located in the passenger compartment on the driver's door.
The anti-theft alarm does not go into standby mode when one of the car's doors, trunk lid or hood is not tightly closed. If the alarm does not activate, look at the door and trunk lid warning light on the vehicle's instrument panel (see Section Vehicle equipment, arrangement of instruments and controls), then manually check if the car hood is closed.
Do not attempt to make changes to the design of the anti-theft alarm system or its individual components. This can lead to a decrease in the effectiveness of the security functions of the system.
