Electronic Air Control Valve (EACV), Fast Idle Valve (Honda Accord 3)

1. Typically these air control valves are located on the side of the intake chamber.

2. Disconnect the electrical wiring connector from the valve.

3. Mark and disconnect the vacuum hoses from the assembly.

4. Remove the mounting bolts and remove the valve. Disconnect and discard the O-rings from the vacuum ports.

To install:

5. Replace the O-rings and ensure they are seated correctly.

6. Install the valve and mounting bolts. The EACV control valve shaft must fit correctly on the port. On Accord and Prelude, tighten the EACV bolts to 22 Nm and the quick idle valve bolts to 12 Nm.

7. Connect the vacuum hoses to the valve; make sure each hose is connected to its own port. Connect the electrical connector.
