Windscreen wiper relay regulator (Honda Accord 3)

On the 1984-89 ACCORD, the windshield wiper system is operated by a relay located in the fuse box under the dashboard. The relay controls the wiper cycle, energizing the wipers every 5-6 seconds. The relay is removed from the fuse box.

On ACCORDs since 1990 and on PRELUDEs since 1988, an on-board computer has been used. On PRELUDEs, it is located under the instrument panel between the accelerator pedal and the heater box. The integrated on-board computer controls the windshield wiper cycle as well as other processes that require precise timing: seat belt buzzers, key bells, entry lights, etc. In addition, a separate interrupter relay is located under the relay box on ACCORDs in the right rear corner of the engine compartment. On 1984-87 PRELUDEs, the windshield wiper interrupter relay is located under the instrument panel, just to the right of the steering column. It is removed by disconnecting the wires and removing the mounting bolt.
