1984-85 Accord, 1984-87 Prelude
The ON/OFF switch of the system is easily removed from the dashboard. Disconnect the wires located on the back of the panel, then remove the switch.
1986-89 Accord
Remove the fuse box cover to remove the cruise control main ON/OFF switch. Push the switch out by reaching in from the back of the instrument panel with your fingers. Disconnect the electrical connector.
1988-91 Prelude
1. Remove the retractor (the device that directs the headlights up and down) and the fog light switch from the instrument panel. Remove the instrument panel dimmer.
2. Behind these switches are screws that hold the front of the instrument panel in place. Remove these two screws and the three screws located at the top of the instrument panel.
3. Carefully remove the front part of the instrument panel. Disconnect the wiring from the cruise control switch and from the electric sunroof control switch.
4. The cruise control main switch and the electric sunroof control switch are secured to the front of the instrument panel with two screws. Remove the screws and switches as an assembly.
5. Reassemble in reverse order, being careful not to damage the front of the panel. Install the switches and connect the wires. Check the operation of the switches after assembly.
1990-91 Accord
The cruise control ON/OFF and power sunroof control switches can be removed by carefully pushing the panel they are located on out of the instrument panel.
