
1984-85 Accord and 1984-87 Prelude
The control unit on the ACCORD is located behind the left panel behind the instrument cluster. To remove it, unscrew the mounting bracket and carefully move it downwards. The bracket holds other controls. With the ignition off, disconnect the wiring harness from the cruise control unit - it is the largest of the three located here - then remove the control from the bracket.
The control unit on the PRELUDE is located inside the right rear side of the decorative panel. To remove it, you need to remove the decorative panel. The cruise control unit is mounted on a bracket. It is longer and rectangular. After turning off the ignition, disconnect the wires and remove the control unit. Handle the units carefully - these are small computers that can be easily damaged by impact or high temperatures. Store them in a clean place outside the car.
1986-89 Accord
The main control unit is bolted to the back of the upper left side of the instrument panel. It is accessible after removing the fuse box and is located on the back to the left of the instrument cluster. To remove the unit, simply remove the mounting bolts. Remember that the wires are disconnected with the ignition off.
1988-91 Prelude

The control unit is located above the left panel, where the clutch and brake pedals are located. It becomes accessible after removing the left lower instrument panel. If dismantling the unit is required, remove the mounting bolts of the mounting bracket, remove the assembly, and then the unit from the bracket.
1990-91 Accord
The control unit is located behind the left side of the instrument panel, approximately above the clutch pedal. It is accessible after removing the lower instrument panel.
