1984-85 Accord and 1984-87 Prelude
The ACCORD control unit is located behind the left panel behind the instrument cluster. To remove it, unscrew the mounting bracket and carefully slide it down. Other regulators are fixed on the bracket. With the ignition off, disconnect the harness from the cruise control module - it is the largest of the three located here - then remove the regulator from the bracket.
The control unit on the PRELUDE vehicle is located inside the right rear side of the trim panel. To remove it, you need to remove the decorative panel. The cruise control unit is mounted on the bracket. It is longer and rectangular. Turn off the ignition, disconnect the wires and remove the control unit. Handle the blocks with care - these are small computers that are easily damaged by shock or heat. Store them in a clean place outside the vehicle.
1986-89 Accord
The main control box is bolted to the back of the top left side of the dashboard. It becomes accessible after removing the fuse box and is located on the back side to the left of the instrument cluster. To remove the block, simply remove the mounting bolts. Do not forget that the wires are disconnected when the ignition is off.
1988-91 Prelude
The control unit is located above the left panel, on which the clutch and brake pedals are located. It becomes available after removing the lower left dashboard. If removal of the unit is required, remove the mounting bracket mounting bolts, remove the assembly, and then remove the unit from the bracket.
1990-91 Accord
The control unit is located behind the left side of the dashboard, approximately above the clutch pedal. It becomes accessible after removing the lower instrument panel. If it is necessary to remove it, remove the mounting bolts and the lower panel. Disconnect the wires and remove the block from the bracket.
