Intermediate shaft — disassembly (Honda HR-V 1)

1. Securely clamp the intermediate shaft assembly in a vice using wooden blocks.

2. Bend the lock nut tongue out of the groove on the intermediate shaft, then unscrew the lock nut and remove the spring washer.



3. Press out the ball bearing as shown in the figure.



4. Press the friction damper out of the bushing using a press and chuck as shown in the figure.

Check for wear and damage

5. Place the 1st gear pinion on steel blocks and press the intermediate shaft out of the 3rd gear pinion as shown in the figure.
