Checking the thickness and parallelism of the disc (Honda HR-V 1)

1. Slightly loosen the front wheel nuts, then raise the vehicle and secure it on safety stands. Remove the front wheels.

2. Remove the brake pads (see above).

3. Using a micrometer, measure the disc thickness at eight points approximately 45° apart and 10 mm from the outer edge of the disc. If the smallest measurement is less than the regrinding limit, replace the brake disc.

Brake disc thickness:

• Standard: 22.9-23.1 mm
• Regrinding limit: 21.0 mm
• Brake disc parallelism: 0.015 mm

4. If the brake disc parallelism is not as specified, regrind the brake disc on a vehicle brake drum lathe. Kwik Lathes manufactured by Kwik-way Manufacturing Co. and Front Brake Disc Lathes offered by Snap-on Tools Co. are recommended for this operation.
