Removal
1. Remove the timing chain.
2. Remove the oil receiver and oil pump.

Examination
1. Remove the oil pump cover.
2. Check the gap between the teeth of the leading and driven rotors.
- Nominal clearance - 0.02 - 0.14 mm
- Maximum gap - 0.20 mm

If the clearance exceeds the maximum, replace the oil pump.
3. Check the clearance between the rotors and the oil pump housing.
- Nominal clearance - 0.02 - 0.06 mm
- Maximum gap - 0.15 mm

If the clearance exceeds the maximum, replace the oil pump.
4. Check the radial clearance between the driven rotor and the housing wall.
- Nominal clearance - 0.10 - 0.18 mm
- Maximum gap - 0.20 mm

If the clearance exceeds the maximum, replace the oil pump.
5. Check the rotors and pump housing for scoring and other damage. Replace faulty parts if necessary.
6. Install the oil pump cover.
Installation
1. Install the pins and new O-ring onto the oil pump; align the rotor with the crankshaft and install the oil pump.
2. Install the oil pan with a new gasket.

3. Install the timing chain.
