Warning! The car models covered in this manual are equipped with an additional security system (SRS). Before doing any work near the airbag unit, steering column or instrument panel, turn off the SRS to avoid injury if it is accidentally deployed (see chapter Onboard electrical equipment). SRS circuit wiring is easily identified by the yellow color of the insulation.
To avoid damage to the PCM by electrostatic discharge, avoid touching the module's terminals. If possible, perform self-grounding. PCM is one of the components of the anti-theft system and provides engine immobilization. When replacing the PCM, the new module must be programmed in a car service workshop before starting the engine. The actual replacement of the PCM, strictly speaking, would also be more correct to entrust to specialists.
1. The PCM control module is located in the passenger compartment under the instrument panel, near the center console assembly.
2. Disable SRS (see chapter Onboard electrical equipment).
Attention! If the stereo system installed in the car is equipped with a security code, before disconnecting the battery, make sure that you have the correct combination to activate the equipment!
3. Unscrew the carpet from the bottom of the center console in the driver's and passenger's footwells (see chapter Body), you should have easy access to the PCM assembly.
4. Disconnect electrical connectors PCM.
Attention! To avoid damage to the processor, the ignition must be turned off when disconnecting / connecting the wiring (key in OFF position).
5. Turn out bolts of fastening of a basic arm РСМ.
6. Carefully remove the PCM.
Attention! To avoid damage to the PCM by static electricity, be careful not to touch the module's terminals. If possible, perform self-grounding. Use special electrostatic pads to store the module (ask at car accessories stores).
7. Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
Attention! When replacing the module, it is necessary to enter the code of the engine immobilization system into it in the conditions of a car service workshop.
