2. Clamp the fuel line going to the pump.
3. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.
4. Raise the rear of the vehicle. Remove the left rear wheel.
5. Label the fuel lines. Clamp the inlet and outlet hoses. Loosen the hose clamps. Slide the clamps back; do not twist or rotate the hoses when removing them.
6. Disconnect the positive and ground wires from the pump.
7. Remove the fuel pump mounting bolts, being careful not to lose the washers and bushings.
8. Remove the pump and its protective cover as a single unit.
9. The pump cannot be disassembled and must be replaced if faulty.
10. Install the pump and cover. Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm.
11. Connect the connector.
12. Connect the fuel hoses.
13. Install the left rear wheel. Lower the car.
14. Install the tank cap. Connect the wire to the negative terminal of the battery.
15. Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position for 3 seconds, listen to the pump operating. Turn off the ignition and then turn it back to the "ON" position, creating pressure in the fuel line.
16. Start the engine. (It may take a few seconds for the fuel lines to completely fill.)
