Caution: Before starting work, disconnect the cables from the battery and wait at least 3 minutes.
Removal
1. Turn the front wheels to the straight-ahead position and make sure the steering wheel is also in this position.
2. Remove the driver's front airbag, see above.
3. Disconnect the connectors from the horn switch and the cruise control and radio switches.

4. Loosen the steering wheel nut. Using a suitable puller, remove the steering wheel from the steering column shaft.

Attention.
- Remove the steering wheel straight, without any distortions.
- Avoid impacts to the steering wheel and column shaft.
5. Remove the upper and lower steering column covers, see fig. on next page.

6. Remove the D ₂ connector from the holder, disconnect the D connectors2i and D2o.
7. Disconnect the 4-pin connector from the electrical wiring coil.
8. Unscrew the 3 screws securing the electrical wiring coil and remove it.

Installation
Caution: Make sure the cables are disconnected from the battery before starting work.
1. Make sure the front wheels are in the straight-ahead position.
2. Adjust the position of the coupling as shown in the figure and install it.

3. Perform steps 5-8 of the "Removal" section in reverse order.
4. Center the coil of the electric wiring. To do this, first turn it with the pin until it stops clockwise, then turn it to the left by 2.5 turns.
Make sure the arrow on the spool is pointing up.

5. Install the steering wheel and tighten its nut.
Align the coupling tabs and steering column shaft grooves.
Align the wiring coil pins with the steering wheel holes.
6. Connect the connectors of the horn switch and the cruise control and radio switches. Place the connector D1i from the side of the steering wheel mounting panel.

7. Install the driver's front airbag, see above.
After installation, connect the cables to the battery and perform the following check:
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position and check that the SRS indicator light comes on and goes out after 6 seconds.
- Turn the steering wheel fully left and right and check that the SRS indicator light does not come on.
- Check the operation of the horn.
- Check the operation of the cruise control switch.
- Check the operation of the radio switch.
