Caution: Before starting work, disconnect the cables from the battery and wait at least 3 minutes.


Removal



1. Remove the glove box.

2. Remove the P connector and disconnect the P connectors1i and R1o.

3. Remove the 3 fastening nuts of the front passenger front airbag.

4. Remove the airbag from the instrument panel.

4. Remove the airbag from the instrument panel.


The clips on the airbag cover fit into the dashboard bracket. Release them with a screwdriver wrapped in a cloth to avoid damaging the dashboard or airbag cover.

Installation



1. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Caution: Replace the nuts with new ones and apply a locking agent to their threads before installation.




2. Make sure there are no gaps between the airbag cover and the instrument panel.

After installation, connect the cables to the battery and perform the following check:
  • Turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position and check that the SRS indicator light comes on and goes out after 6 seconds.
