Checking the crankshaft (Honda Fit 1)

1. Remove the crankshaft from the cylinder block.

2. Clean the oil passages.

3. Check keyway and threads. Repair or replace if necessary.

4. Install the crankshaft into the V-shaped prisms.

5. Using a dial indicator, check the crankshaft runout on the central main journal. Make sure that the runout does not exceed the maximum.

Crankshaft runout:
  • nominal - 0.03 mm
  • maximum - 0.04 mm

6. Check the connecting rod and main journals for taper and out-of-roundness. Make sure that the taper and out-of-roundness do not exceed the nominal value.
  • Crankshaft journal diameter - 49.976 - 50.000 mm
  • Crankshaft journal diameter - 39.976 - 40.000 mm

Taper and ovality:
  • nominal - 0.005 mm
  • maximum - 0.010 mm

maximum - 0.010 mm
