Note: Do not use this troubleshooting algorithm if the fan is not running and the air conditioner is on.
1. Check fuse #11 (30 A) relay block and fuse No. 10 (7.5 A) fuse block. If the fuses are faulty, then they should be replaced and rechecked; if the fuses are good, then proceed to step #2.
2. Remove the condenser fan motor relay from the relay box and test it. If the relay is faulty, then it should be replaced, if the relay is OK, then proceed to step number 3.
3. Measure the voltage between terminal #2 of the condenser fan motor relay connector and ground. If the voltage does not match the battery voltage, then the relay unit should be replaced, if the voltage matches the battery voltage, then proceed to step No. 4.
4. Connect a jumper wire between terminals #1 and #2 of the condenser fan motor relay connector. If the fan is spinning, then proceed to step #5. If the fan does not rotate, then proceed to step number 8.
5. Remove the jumper wire from terminals #1 and #2 of the condenser fan motor relay connector.
6. Turn the ignition key to position "ON".
7. Measure the voltage between terminal #4 of the condenser fan motor rep connector and ground. If the voltage matches the battery voltage, repair the open in the wire between the condenser fan motor relay and the ECM, If the voltage does not match the battery voltage, repair the open between the condenser fan motor relay and fuse #10 (7.5 A) fuse box.
8. Remove the jumper wire from terminals #1 and #2 of the condenser fan motor relay connector.
9. Disconnect the condenser fan connector.
10. Check continuity between terminal #1 of the condenser fan motor rep connector and terminal #2 of the condenser fan connector. If there is continuity between the terminals, go to step #11. If there is no continuity, repair open between the condenser fan and the condenser fan motor relay.
11. Check continuity between terminal #1 of the condenser fan connector and ground. If continuity is present, the condenser fan should be replaced; if there is no continuity, check that there is no open circuit between the condenser fan and ground. If there are no breaks, check the ground wire (G301).
