The air leakage solenoid valve provides additional air to the air intake manifold. The solenoid valve opens while the engine is idling and when the intake air temperature is high. The solenoid valve serves to reduce the exhaust gases at idle when the air injection into the exhaust manifold is blocked.
Disconnect the #27 vacuum hose from the vacuum manifold and connect the vacuum pump.
Disconnect the 8-pin connector on the control box.
Create a vacuum.
If the solenoid valve does not hold vacuum, then it should be replaced.
If the solenoid valve holds a vacuum, then connect the positive battery terminal to the Gray terminal of the 8-pin connector, and the negative terminal to the Black one.
Next, create a vacuum.
If the solenoid valve does not hold vacuum, then it should be replaced.
If the solenoid valve holds a vacuum, then check for an open White / Green wire between the control box and terminal 18 of the control unit and Black wire between the control box and point G7. If the conductors are normal, then you should refer to the diagnostics section of the inputs of the control modules.
