Fixing a Rear Differential Leak (Honda HR-V 1)

1. Loosen the bolts crosswise, then remove the differential housing.

3. SEALS. Replace


2. Apply sealant to the sealing surface of the differential housing, taking into account the following:
  • Use sealant (P/N 0Y740-99986).
  • Remove any dirt or liquid from the sealing surfaces.
  • If 20 minutes have passed since applying the sealant, reapply it before reassembling the case. Allow the sealant to cure for at least 30 minutes after assembly before refilling the differential with fluid.

3. Install the differential housing, then tighten the bolts in a crisscross pattern in several passes.

4. Install the seals (see below).
