If the oil pressure warning light stays on while the engine is running, check the engine oil level. If the level is normal:

1. Connect the tachometer.

2. Unscrew the oil pressure sensor and install an oil pressure gauge in its place.

1. hole for engine oil pressure sensor

1. hole for engine oil pressure sensor
2. oil pressure gauge, 07506-3000000
3. Adapter for oil pressure gauge. 07406-0030000

3. Start the engine. If the pressure gauge does not show any oil pressure, stop the engine immediately. Correct the fault before proceeding further.

4. Allow the engine to warm up to normal operating temperature (the fan will come on at least twice). The pressure should be:

Engine oil temperature: 80°C.

Engine oil pressure:

At idle speed.70 kPa (0.7 kgf/cm²) min.
At 3000 rpm340 kPa (3.5 kgf/cm²) min.

If the oil pressure is different from the nominal value, check the oil pump (see below).
