Testing the signal at the controller input

Note: The control unit is built into the instrument panel light controller.

1. Remove the switch panel from the instrument panel.

2. Disconnect the 3-pin connector from the controller.



3. Press the controller from behind the panel and remove it.

4. Check the connector contacts and make sure they provide reliable contact.

• If contacts are bent, loose or corroded, repair the defects and retest the system.
• If the contacts appear to be OK, perform the following tests on the connector (table).
• If any of the tests indicate a problem, find and correct the cause, then retest the system.
• If the test at the regulator input shows normal, the regulator must be faulty, replace it.
