Installing the oil pan (Honda Fit 1)

1. Remove old sealant from the oil pan surface, bolt holes and bolts.

2. Clean the contact surface of the oil pan.

3. Install a new oil pan gasket.

4. Apply sealant to the oil pan contact surface.

Note:
  • Apply a continuous bead of sealant with a diameter of 1.5 mm to the areas marked "A".
  • Apply a 5mm bead of sealant to the area marked "B".
  • The parts must be installed within the time specified in the sealant's instructions for use, otherwise the sealant must be removed and reapplied.

5. Install the oil pan with the dowel pin and new O-ring.

6. Tighten the bolts in two or three passes.



Tightening torque:
  • bolt no. 1 - 24 Nm
  • the rest - 12 Nm

7. Install the torque converter clutch cover and tighten the bolts.

8. Install the dipstick guide with a new O-ring.

9. (Manual transmission models) Install the heat shield.

10. After assembly, wait 30 minutes before adding engine oil.
