1. Checking the sound signal.

a) Remove the front bumper.

b) Disconnect the "1P" (B) connector of the horn and remove the siren.

b) Disconnect the «1P» (B) connector of the horn…


c) Apply battery voltage to the siren terminals as shown in the figure and make sure that the sound signal works.

Note: The horn is designed to use the side frame of the body as a "ground". If the conductivity between the side frame of the body and the bumper is broken, the "ground" disappears and the horn does not work.


2. Checking the horn switch.

a) Remove the steering column cover.

b) Disconnect the spiral wire (A) from the "5P" connector (B).

c) Check the continuity between the terminals in each switch position as shown in the table.

If there is conductivity, the switch is normal.



If there is no conductivity, follow the next step.

If there is no conductivity, follow the next step.
If there is no conductivity, follow the next step.

d) Remove the driver's airbag.

d) Disconnect the "5P" connector of the horn switch. Check the conductivity between terminal "2" of the connector and the spiral wire (A).

If there is continuity, replace the steering wheel.

If there is no continuity, replace the coil wire.

If there is no continuity, replace the coil wire.
