Clutch flywheel — check and replacement (Honda HR-V 1)

Examination



1. Check the ring gear teeth for wear and damage.

2. Check the flywheel contact surface under the clutch driven disc for wear, cracks and overheating.

3. Measure the flywheel runout with a dial indicator for at least two full revolutions. Press the flywheel as it rotates to eliminate the crankshaft thrust washer clearance.

Note: Runout can be measured on an installed engine.

  • Standard (new): 0.05 mm
  • Limit: 0.15 mm

Limit: 0.15 mm


If the runout exceeds the allowable limit, replace the flywheel and recheck the runout.

Replacement



1. Install the special tool as shown in the figure.

2. Loosen the flywheel mounting bolts crosswise in several passes and remove the flywheel.

3. Install the flywheel in the reverse order of removal.
