Starter Clutch Calibration Procedure
When replacing the following components, it is necessary to enter the starting clutch control feedback signal into the PCM memory:
- RSM module
- Gearbox assembly
- Starter clutch assembly
- Lower valve box assembly
- After engine assembly or repair
1. Start the engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature (the radiator fan will turn on).
2. Shift to position D.
3. Turn off all electrical consumers.
Note: Except headlights; calibration can be performed with the headlights on.
4. Drive your car on a level road.
5. Accelerate to 60 km/h, then release the accelerator pedal and slow down for 5 seconds.
Note:
- Do not press the brake pedal to slow down.
- The feedback signal for control of the starting clutch is entered into the memory of the RCM module.
6. Road test the car, make sure the engine does not stall and the car starts smoothly.
If the engine stalls or there are gear shifting problems when starting off, recalibrate the starter clutch control feedback signal.
