Testing the rectifier (Denso) (Honda HR-V 1)

Note: Diodes allow current to flow in one direction and prevent it from flowing in the opposite direction. Since the generator rectifier consists of eight diodes (four pairs), it is necessary to test for continuity in both directions using an appropriate ohmmeter; total of 16 checks.

1. Perform a continuity test in each direction between:

Terminals B and P
Terminals E (ground) and P

All diodes must conduct in one direction only.

2. If any of the diodes is faulty, replace the rectifier assembly (the diodes are not supplied separately).
