Gearbox Control Cable — Replacement (Honda Fit 1)

1. Jack up the car and place it on stands.

2. Remove the center console (see chapter "Body").

3. Move the selector to the "N" position.

4. Unscrew the nut and disconnect the cable from the selector.

5. Remove the cable from the bracket by turning it as shown in the figure.

6. Remove the catalytic converter heat shield.

7. Remove the bracket (A) and seal (B), then pull the automatic transmission control cable (C) into the engine compartment.

8. Remove the cable cover (A), then loosen the bolts and remove the cable bracket (B).

9. Lift up the washer retainer (C), loosen the bolt (D) and remove the washer. Disconnect the cable (E) from the transmission shaft (F).

10. Remove the gearbox control cable.

Note:

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

After installation, adjust the transmission control cable.
