1. Do not work with refrigerant in an enclosed space or near an open flame.
2. Always wear safety glasses.
3. Be careful not to get refrigerant on your skin, eyes or mouth.
On defeat:
- a) Do not rub the burned area.
- b) Rinse the burned area with plenty of cold water and lubricate the skin with clean petroleum jelly.
- V) Do not try to treat yourself, contact a medical facility immediately.
4. Do not heat or incinerate refrigerant cylinders.
5. Do not drop cylinders or subject them to shock.
6. Do not run the compressor without enough refrigerant. Lack of refrigerant leads to insufficient lubrication of the compressor, which can lead to compressor failure.
7. Do not open the high pressure valve on the gauge block while the compressor is running. If the high pressure valve is open, the direction of refrigerant flow will change, resulting in compressor failure.
8. Do not overcharge the system. Excess coolant leads to insufficient cooling, excessive fuel consumption, and engine overheating.
9. Use only R134a refrigerant.
Early models used R12 refrigerant in the air conditioning system. Currently, the air conditioning system uses R134a refrigerant. The large differences in the properties of R12 and R134a refrigerants require different air conditioning systems for each type of refrigerant. Never mix R12 and R134a refrigerants, even in small quantities, as this will lead to serious malfunctions of the air conditioning system.
10. Use only SP-10 compressor oil.
Attention: mixing oils intended for different air conditioning systems leads to compressor failure.
11. Use O-rings and glands designed for the type of refrigerant used only.
Attention: R134a refrigerant destroys seals for R12 refrigerant and the system will depressurize.
12. Be careful when tightening connections.
A) Apply some compressor oil to the rubber fitting seals to facilitate tightening and prevent refrigerant leaks.
b) When tightening the nuts, use two wrenches to prevent twisting of the pipeline.
V) Tighten only to the specified torque.
13. Plug open hose ends and fittings immediately to prevent moisture and dust from entering.
14. Bleed off the refrigerant through the charging valve before installing the new compressor, otherwise the compressor oil will spray out with the refrigerant when the plug is removed.
