Rear suspension beam — removal (Honda Fit 1)

1. Remove the hub (2WD models) or bearing housing (4WD models) from the rear suspension beam.

2. Remove the spring.

3. Remove the brake hose retainer (A), disconnect the brake hose (B) from the beam.

Note.
  • Do not twist the brake hose during installation.
  • Replace the brake hose retainer with a new one.


4. Disconnect the speed sensor wire (C) from the rear suspension beam.

Note: Do not disconnect the speed sensor connector.


5. Jack up the center of the rear suspension beam.

6. Unscrew the bolts on both sides and then remove the jack with the rear suspension beam.

7. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Note.
  • Install all rear suspension components and pre-tighten the bolts. Final tightening of the bolts to the rated torque is performed when the suspension is loaded at the rear of the vehicle.
  • Make sure the speed sensor cables and brake hoses are not damaged or kinked.
