1. Disconnect the damper actuator connector.

2. Connect the positive battery terminal to terminal "1" of the actuator connector and the negative battery terminal to terminal "2" and check that the actuator operates in the "VENT" direction. Reverse the polarity of the battery connection and check that the actuator operates in the "DEF" direction.
