Fusible links are the main protective elements for a number of high-voltage circuits. Fusible links on HONDA are located in the box under the hood and in the relay box. On early models, they are strips of the appropriate metal fixed between two clamps. The thickness and length of the strip determine the withstandable current. To replace the link, turn off the ignition, unscrew the bolt from the faulty link and install a new one. On later models, links appear that are approximately the same size as fuses. These are square boxes with a small hole in the top. Direct measurement can determine the current passing through them, usually 50 or 80 amperes. They are removed in the same way as fuses. If the connection is interrupted, this is due to a large current passing through the circuit. It is necessary to find the cause so that the new link does not quickly fail.
