The procedure for disassembling and assembling the outer hinge is the same as the inner hinge, so only the inner hinge is considered below.

Do the work with a cloth underneath.

Mark the removed parts so that they can be installed in their original places during assembly.

1. Remove the ring clamp from the inner joint.



2. Remove the clamps without damaging the cover.

If the boot clamps are welded or low profile, cut them off.



If the cover clamps are of the double loop type, bend the bend of the clamp and press the end of the clamp into the retainer using a screwdriver.



3. Apply marks and remove the rollers with the crosspiece from the hinge housing.





4. Mark the crosspiece and rollers and remove the rollers from the crosspiece.

5. Remove the retaining ring, mark and remove the crosspiece from the drive shaft.



6. To avoid damaging the boot, wrap the drive shaft splines with vinyl tape.

7. Remove the clamp and boot from the drive shaft.



8. Remove the vinyl tape.

9. Check the drive shaft and replace if necessary.
