Examination
Before checking, make sure that fuse No. 4 is in good condition and securely connected (7.5A) fuse boxes on the driver's side.
1. Remove the deflector from the driver's side (see ch. Body).
2. Disconnect the 10-pin connector from the power window switch.
When the drives of the left and right mirrors do not work
3. Turn the ignition key to the ON position (II) and check the voltage between pin #1 and «weight».
If there is no voltage, perform the following checks: Check the yellow-black wire for an open and for a loose connection.
If there is battery voltage, proceed with the next test.
4. Check continuity between pin #2 and «weight».
If there is no continuity, perform the following test: Check the black wire for an open and a good connection. Quality «masses (G581).
If there is continuity, replace the switch.
When the left mirror drive does not work
5. Close contacts No. 1 and No. 7 and contact No. 4 between each other (or #9) on «mass»). Turn the ignition key to the ON position (II) and check if the left mirror turns down (or left).
If the mirror doesn't turn down (or left), check green and white (or blue white) wire for breakage and reliability of the connection of contacts. If everything is in order, check the drive of the left mirror.
If the mirror does not turn down and to the left, check the red-blue wire for an open and a good connection.
If the mirror swivels down and to the left at the same time, check the mirror switch.
When the right mirror drive does not work
6. Close contacts No. 1 and No. 8 and contact No. 4 between each other (or #10) on «mass»). Turn the ignition key to the ON position (II) and check if the right mirror turns down (or left).
If the mirror doesn't turn down (or left), check green and white (or red) wire for breakage and reliability of the connection of contacts. If everything is in order, check the drive of the right mirror.
If the mirror does not turn down and to the left, check the blue-green wire for an open and a loose connection.
If the mirror swivels down and to the left at the same time, check the mirror switch.
When the folding mirrors do not work
7. Turn the ignition key to the ON position (II). Close and open contacts #1 and #5 and check if the left and right mirrors fold and unfold.
If the mirrors do not fold or unfold, check the front passenger side MPCS inputs.
If the mirrors fold and unfold, replace the switch.
Switch test
1. Remove the mirror switch.
2. Check the continuity between the various contacts in each switch position and verify that there is continuity only between the contacts connected by the lines in the table.

Drive test
1.Remove the mirror trim and door trim (see ch. Body).
2. Disconnect the 6-pin connector from the mirror.
3. Check the smooth operation of the mirror after applying battery voltage to the pins below.

Withdrawal
1. Remove the mirror assembly (see ch. Body).
2. Disconnect a 6-contact socket of an e/conducting of a mirror and cut an e/conducting nippers.
3. Remove 3 screws and separate the mirror base from the body.
4. Remove the mirror holder from the housing.
Attention. Use a cloth to avoid damaging the mirror and body.
5. Remove all screws and remove the drive from the housing.
Installation
6. Install the drive assembly on the housing.
Do not deform the contacts while passing the electrical wiring through the hole. Wrapping the contacts together with vinyl tape will make the job easier.
Use new screws, do not overtighten them.
7. Install the mirror holder assembly to the drive.
Attention.
- To prevent the mirror from breaking, hold it with your palm during installation.
- Make sure the mirror is installed correctly.
8. Pass the electrical wiring through the hole in the base and install the housing on the base.
9. Insert contacts of an e/conducting in the new socket, looking at an arrangement of wires of the cut socket.
10. After installing the mirror, check the operation of the mirror and the absence of extraneous sounds by operating the switches several times.
