Removable Components
Before removing the glass, remove the following components.
Interior rear view mirror (see above).
Top cover hood (see below).
Front wiper arms (see ch. electrical equipment).
Removal and installation of side moldings / removal of holders
While removing the holders, heat them with a hair dryer (approx. up to 110-120°С), soften the double-sided tape and remove it with wire cutters.
Don't scratch the body.
Do not overheat the bonding points on the body as the color of the paint may change.
To protect plastic components from warping, protect them from hot air with aluminum foil.
Piano wire installation method
Pass the piano wire at each corner as shown in the figure, pull the wire in the directions of the arrows and cut the adhesive.
The figure shows the view from the outside.
Places for installing rubber pads and fasteners / places for applying a primer
The installation of rubber gaskets and fasteners is carried out according to the alignment marks on the glass.
A primer 3M N-200 or equivalent is applied to the installation site of the molding.
Top molding installation
Apply glue to both ends of the upper molding as shown in the illustration, install on the glass according to the dimensions shown in the illustration and press.
Align the molding and glass center marks and press the molding.
After installing the molding, install a new molding seal.
Installing body mounts / installing holders / applying a primer to the body
Before installing the holders, clean the contact surfaces of the body with clean gasoline or alcohol, remove the paper from the double-sided adhesive tape of the holder and install the holder on the body, aligning with the recesses. After installing the holder, apply glue to its edges (two part epoxy adhesive).
