a) Remove the instrument cluster and disconnect the connectors.
b) Check the system as shown in the table "Checking the backlight control system".
If the system does not operate correctly, replace the instrument cluster.
2. Checking the key presence sensor in the ignition switch
a) Remove the steering column crumb.
b) Disconnect the "6P" connector from the ignition switch.
c) Check for continuity between terminals "1" and "2" with the key in the ignition switch. If the key is removed from the ignition switch, there is no continuity.
If the result does not match the description, replace the ignition switch.
