Front door — disassembly and assembly (Honda Fit 1)

Disassembly and assembly of the front door.

Note: Assembly is carried out in the reverse order of disassembly, taking into account the following:

(Right hand drive models without electric windows) Install the window control handle as shown in the figure.

Door trim panel

1. Lower the window completely.

2. (Right hand drive models without electric windows) Disconnect the rod (B) from the hinge (C) and remove the window control handle (A).

3. Remove the inner door handle.

a) Loosen screw (B).

b) Pull the inner handle (A) towards you and disconnect the clamps (C).

c) Disconnect the inner door opening rod (D) from the handle.

c) Disconnect the inner door opening rod (D) from…

4. Remove the armrest.

a) Using a screwdriver, disconnect the clamps (B).

Note: Please wrap the screwdriver with protective tape before use.

b) Disconnect the clamps (D and E) from the window control panel (C).

c) Disconnect the clamps (F and G).

d) Disconnect the clamp (H), pull the armrest (A) towards you and remove it.

5. Remove the armrest bracket.

a) Disconnect the connector (A).

b) Loosen the screws (C) and remove the armrest bracket (B).

6. Remove the door trim panel.

a) Disconnect the clamps (B).

b) Pull the door lock rod (C) out through the hole in the door trim panel (A).

c) Pull the trim panel in the directions shown in the figure and carefully remove it.

External door handle

1. Raise the glass fully.

2. Remove the door trim panel.

3. Remove the cover of the technological hole.

a) Remove the plugs (B).

b) Pull the wire harnesses (C) through the holes in the access hole cover (A) and remove the cover.

4. Disconnect the retainer (C), then remove the lock cylinder (A). Disconnect the rod (B) from the lock cylinder.

5. Disconnect the rod (A) from the outer handle (B) and unscrew the bolts (C).

Tightening torque - 9.8 Nm

6. Disconnect the clamp (B), then remove the outer handle (A) in the sequence shown in the figure.

Door lock

1. Raise the glass fully.

2. Remove the front door trim panel and the access hole cover.

3. Bend back the upper door glass seal as shown in the figure, unscrew the bolt (B) and remove the guide (A) of the door glass.

Tightening torque - 8 Nm

4. Disconnect the rods (A and B) from the lock cylinder.

5. Disconnect the inner door opening rod (A) from the holder (B).

6. Disconnect the connectors (D) of the door lock actuator.

7. Loosen the screws (E) and carefully pull the door lock out through the access hole.

Tightening torque - 5 Nm

Window lift mechanism

1. Remove the door trim panel and access hole cover.

2. Lift the door glass (B) so that the glass mounting bolts (A) are visible. Unscrew the bolts. Carefully pull out the glass.
