Checking the gear/clutch (Honda Avancier 1)

1. Press the gear/coupling in the axial direction and check the smoothness of its movement. If it does not move smoothly, lubricate it, and if necessary, replace the gear/coupling with a new one.

2. While holding the pinion/clutch, turn the pinion gear and make sure the pinion turns clockwise only.

3. Check the pinion teeth for wear and damage.

Caution: If the pinion teeth are damaged, it can be assumed that the ring gear teeth are also damaged, so check them (see chapter Automatic transmission).
